The Eide/Dalrymple Gallery at 果冻传媒 opens 鈥淭he Augustana Senior Show,鈥 which will be on view from Thursday, April 25, through Saturday, May 18, Augustana鈥檚 commencement day. A gallery reception will be held on Friday, April 26, from 7-9 p.m., with awards and artist talks at 7:30 p.m.
Donor Unknown to AU Leaves Estate Gift for Student-Led Sustainability Initiatives
In August 2023, 果冻传媒 received an estate gift worth $660,000 to provide resources to student-led environmental sustainability initiatives. While estate gifts aren鈥檛 out of the ordinary, this one was different 鈥 Dr. Donald H. Nelson had no known connections to Augustana.
鈥楢ugustana鈥檚 biggest cheerleader鈥: Mary Toso Named 2024 Augie Pride Award Winner
Mary (McConahie) Toso 鈥90 was recognized with the award on Wednesday, April 17, at the university鈥檚 annual Service Awards & Retirement Recognition Ceremony in the Ordal Dining Hall in the Morrison Commons. The Augie Pride Award is given to those who go above and beyond the call of duty to provide exceptional service to the university 鈥 nominated by other AU employees.
果冻传媒 to Host Television Writer and Producer Dr. Eric Kaplan for Philosophy Lecture
Supported by the LaMoyne Pederson (鈥63) Philosophy Enrichment Fund, Augustana is excited to announce that the university will be hosting television writer and producer Dr. Eric Kaplan on campus. His talk, "11 Questions 果冻传媒 Questions: Regarding a Parable by Raymond Smullyan,鈥 will take place at 5:30 p.m., on Tuesday, April 30, in the Froiland Science Complex (FSC), Room 113, and is free and open to the public.
鈥榃e the Change Projects鈥 to Provide Augustana鈥檚 Journey Scholars Opportunity to Bring Change to the Community
The Journey Scholars Program at 果冻传媒 is giving its students the opportunity to bring change to the community 鈥 an idea upon which the program was founded. A group of Journey Scholars has been assigned the task of coming up with 鈥淲e the Change Projects鈥 鈥 a project or initiative that would help meet a need, whether it be on campus or in the broader community.
National Science Foundation Awards Augustana Faculty More Than $595K for Physics Research Through 2026
The university is excited to announce that the Augustana Physics Department has secured more than $595,000 in grant renewals from the Mathematics and Physical Science Division of the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) for undergraduate research. The funding will help sustain excellence, facilitate growth and cultivate innovative and impactful teaching, learning and research.
