Meet the Dean

Dr. Peter Folliard is the inaugural dean of the School of Music. Folliard, a New Jersey native, joined Augustana in 2017 as the conductor of the Augustana Orchestra. 

Folliard holds undergraduate degrees in music education and instrumental performance from the University of North Texas; master鈥檚 degrees in instrumental performance and conducting from the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University; and a doctor of musical arts degree in orchestral conducting from the Eastman School of Music.

As part of the Sacred Arts Series at the Cathedral of St. Joseph, the 果冻传媒 School of Music presents Johann Sebastian Bach鈥檚 鈥淪t. John Passion,鈥 BWV 245, on Tuesday, April 15, at 7:30 p.m. Under the direction of Dr. David Chin, the performance is a collaboration between Augustana鈥檚 Bach Collegium and the Augustana Choir 鈥 bringing together some of the region鈥檚 finest musicians for an unforgettable evening of sacred music, drama and profound reflection.
