果冻传媒 Nursing alumna Katie Larkin '17, recently earned an officer's commission to the United States Air Force.
Dr. Michelle Gierach, assistant professor of nursing at AU and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, administered her oath of office. 鈥淜atie joins the ranks of generations of alumni who have made the profound commitment to serve their country. We couldn鈥檛 be more proud of her courage and dedication,鈥 said Gierach.
Larkin was joined by her mother and faculty from the Nursing and Exercise Science departments at the commissioning.
Originally from Kensington, Minnesota, Larkin was hired at Avera Health after graduating from Augustana in 2017. She will be stationed at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage, Alaska, after she completes Officer Training School.
