AP, IB, CLEP and PSEO Information

Students can earn credit for prior learning through Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB) and College Level Examination Program (CLEP) exam scores. Post-Secondary Educational Option (PSEO) courses also transfer to Augustana.

  • AP | Students who receive a score of 4 or 5 on the may be awarded placement and credit. A complete list of course equivalencies is available for review.
  • IB |  for International Baccalaureate Higher Level examinations in which the student has received a score of 4 or higher.
  • CLEP | Credit will be awarded for the successful completion of most College Level Examination Program Subject Matter Examinations. Augustana uses the recommended score for awarding credit as contained in the . Students who achieve the minimum passing score or higher will have the noted on their transcript, with credit granted toward graduation, and when appropriate, they will be excused from the corresponding general education equivalent.
  • PSEO | Credit is generally awarded for courses taken through the program. Students must present an official transcript from the college or university from which the credit has been earned and must have achieved a grade of C- or higher.
